Thinking about becoming a Wimbledon Windmilers club member? Jeff Hoadley is the Membership Secretary.
If you are completely new to running or multisport or just wondering whether joining the Windmilers is right for you - then you are more than welcome to come along to any of our training sessions before making your mind up whether to join.
Membership provides you with access to all the training sessions, a quarterly edition of the Waffle, the club newsletter, reduced race entry fees (with England Athletics) as well as discounts at a number of running shops such as Sweatshop, Run & Become etc. We are also a triathlon affiliated club and membership includes all our triathlon related activities, with the exception of Monday night swim sessions where there is a charge per session to cover pool hire costs and the lead instructor.
If you are thinking of joining but not yet sure, come to the Sunday social run before 10am by the Windmill at Wimbledon Common. Look for the large group of people hanging around and somebody will be sure to greet you!
The annual 2017/2018 subscription rates follow. - These memberships include one England Athletics Affiliation for the primary member and extra ones can be purchased at the cost of £14.00 each for every additional family member(s). These have been updated to reflect the increase in England Athletics membership for the 2017/2018 year to £14.
|Individual||£48.00||(£34.00 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics)|
|Family*||£69.50||(£55.50 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics for the primary member)|
|Discounted Individual**||£30.50||(£16.50 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics)|
Please note: In accordance with the club constitution membership is by calendar year from 1st April until March 31st and renewal is required every April, whatever time of year you initially join. New members joining after January 1st will be fully paid up members to the end of the succeeding membership year. Please let us know if you need EA membership prior to the start of their membership year on 1st April, as this will be an extra £13 (2016/2017 rates) as they do not do part years, and we will otherwise assume you need EA from 1st April onwards in your full membership year - this matches the time most members will be racing and needing EA membership to claim race discounts.
*Family membership is available to any member’s spouse and any member’s children up to the age of 18, or those over 18 and in full time education. Please note children CANNOT run alone, and the Track sessions on Saturday mornings are tailored for adults, and not suitable for under 16s.
**To qualify for discounted membership, you must either be over 60 years, a full time student or unemployed and/or claiming benefits. Please include a photocopy of supporting documentation.
To join the Windmilers, you need to complete the Windmilers Membership Application Form and send this to "Wimbledon Windmilers" to: email@example.com and pay using the details below.
Note we are no longer using the old PO Box number, email us for details if you really need to post anything through, or pay by cheque, or speak to a coach/committee member who will pass things to us.
You can pay by Internet Bank Transfer: Wimbledon Windmilers. Account num.: 71296182. Sort code: 60-60-02. Don't forget to put your name on the transfer details.
Please contact the membership secretary, (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. You will generally find Jeff at Windmiler training sessions on Sunadys and weekday evenings, and can also found on the email.
To renew your membership, please log into the site (at the top left of the page) and you will be taken through a simple process which integrates the membership system with the SagePay secure card processing system. It is very simple and saves the membership secretary a colossal amount of work. Discounted memberships (other than 60s and over) cant be renewed online as we need to see ongoing evidence of student or unemployed status. If you want to renew by cheque or direct payment to the account this is fine, but let us know you are doing so.
England Athletics Affiliation
We do welcome second claim members - there can be good reasons for wanting to be in more than one club. But if you want to run for the Windmilers, ask the Windmilers Membership Secretary about how to transfer your first claim to Windmilers.
